I was an avid reader as a child, consuming several novels a week, and thus naturally had many ideas of my own. However, actually following through and putting them into narratives turned out to be a rather arduous task that I had a difficult time committing to. Most ended up as drafts of varying detail, ranging anywhere from just a title or a few words to a carefully laid-out plot and characters; there are some that I was quite fond of and even dream of eventually returning to. The quality and maturity of my writing also developed significantly over the years, to the point where I am too embarrassed to share some of my earlier works, though there were not many completed ones either. Thus, out of nearly 200 Google Docs and several notebooks, dating all the way back to 2015, here are the few stories I actually finished and am satisfied to share.
Unfortunately, these are all short stories, despite almost all of my ideas having been meant for longer works (though that is perhaps why I was never able to finish them). The furthest I got was my webnovel, which I will refrain from listing here to separate my creative writing author persona from my serious paper writing persona. However, I am modestly proud to have written more than 200k words for it over 130+ chapters, garnering at least 2500 readers and 850k+ views over four platforms. I began it in September 2021 and updated consistently, about a chapter or two a week, until March 2023, after which I wrote maybe a few chapters a year, the most recent in April 2026. I've grown so much over these years that the original premise feels a bit childish, but I would still like to complete it one day, though that might take a while since I estimate it's only about two-thirds done currently, and my time nowadays has been largely taken up by writing a lot more serious things...
Additionally, I've dabbled in writing fanfiction at the request of a friend. While I've completed a few good stories, I don't feel as attached to them and will leave them on his profile. I just find it a bit too constraining to be an enjoyable process.
Like many other things in life, I'm not quite sure yet where I'll go with this. Life has been busy, and papers have taken up most of my writing energy. But it would definitely be cool to pick this up again one day!
